This abandoned archaeology of surveying was the starting point of an investigation in to defining and connecting to the landscape and organising our understanding of space through sight, the idea of isolating a view or directing a gaze. As you scan a landscape your gaze pauses at points of interest, each of these pauses are enough to create an image of a place and it was these sensations I wanted to accentuate and consequently make people more focused in their engagement with their surroundings, and to see the value of really looking and spending time absorbing the sights.
